Most people know me as mama Sussy. I am the director of God Our Father Centre for Needy Children. I began working with SWAK (Society for Women and AIDS in Kenya) which dealt with HIV + (positive) mothers with their children, but there was no future for the children after the mothers died and in a short while of about 5 years, these children are orphaned or abandoned or simply in need, as a result I had a heavy burden on the children and decided to take care of the children hence left SWAK in pursuit of a bigger dream.

God Our Father begun as a result of that in the year 2005 November 1st with 20 children, and has grown and developed into what it is today. I have been able to become a mother to them and my husband a father to them, and we have tried to show them affection as much as we could even though it might not be to an extent of what a child deeply needs. Taking care of the children has taught me how to be strong and not emotional, being empathetic and no sympathetic. By the help of the Almighty God in whom we pray to daily, and the help of well-wishers, good Samaritans, friends and family from all over the world we are who we are now, growing, flourishing, and always smiling.

Since inception in 2005, the home has provided shelter, food, clothing, medical and educational needs for the abandoned, children infected or affected with HIV/AIDS, orphans, physically challenged and children suffering the effects of social and economic deprivation. They are the future of Kenya, and will always be thankful to people like you who helped them become successful members of society.
